How do you create focus for a brand that prides itself on offering the most diverse range of products possible?
That was our challenge in developing a new brand identity for Gamezilla, a chain of retail stores in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia carrying comic books, video and board games, and just about anything to do with science fiction, action adventure and fantasy gaming. Gamezilla's new brand identity needed to showcase actual worlds full of characters and the only way we could capture this magic was to dive in head first.
Giving in to our inner adventurer, Revolve became familiar with the experiences that make Gamezilla so appealing to its customers through a brandstorming workshop, site visits and other forms of research. One by one, the characters and stories fell into place, allowing us to create a whole new world that embodies both the welcoming fun of Gamezilla, and the diversity of the brands on its shelves.
Through a community of inviting and entertaining characters, Revolve created a brand identity that is inherently relevant to Gamezilla consumers while highlighting the dozens of products found within their walls. From pirates and spaceships to a werewolf with eyeglasses, Gamezilla can tailor their brand to feature any number of their inhabitants depending on the promotion, execution and audience.
Besides... we can't really complain about getting to draw cartoons all day, can we?
