Everybody knows that behind every successful executive is an experienced assistant to make sure they stay that way. Cathy is ours.

Cathy Walsh
Manager of Operations

And experienced she is. After graduating from college in Lethbridge, Alberta with a certificate in Business Administration, Cathy did a turn at the Alberta Treasury Branch, followed by some time at Canada Trust, then moved on to the Federal Government, and capped all that off by spending 10 years at Acadia University where her latest position was Executive Assistant to the President. Oh, and she’s a busy wife and mother of two. We’re confident our executives are in excellent hands.

Cathy spent her childhood on the family grain farm in southern Saskatchewan and despite having lived in Nova Scotia since 1989, she is still what some would call a stubble jumper at heart. You need look no further for evidence than to put her on a boat, plane or winding Nova Scotia road without Gravol. You can take the girl out of the prairie… Cathy lives in Falmouth with her husband Kim and their two daughters, Kate and Kyla.

Cathy’s favourite local brands:

Benjamin Bridge, Pete’s, Atlantic Lottery, Acadia University

Cathy’s favourite big brands:

A jack-of-all-trades, Cheryl has worked as a receptionist, account receiver, studio coordinator, production manager and project manager. No one knows the ins and outs of an agency like Cheryl. When she’s not at Revolve, Cheryl is still taking on new and exciting opportunities at every turn. For her next project, she’s planning on building an authentic timber frame cabin. But Cheryl also likes to slow down and spend time tending to her garden. She’s mastered flowers and is hoping to expand into vegetables next.

By day, he's a mild-mannered art director. But beneath that gentle exterior, Eric is a creative superhero with the power to bring ideas to life.

Eric Miller
Art Director

No, seriously. He even has his own action figure.

Eric took the less traditional route to art direction - coming from both illustration and engineering backgrounds before settling into the Design program at Nova Scotia Community College. It was there that Eric uncovered his superhuman ability to draw clever insights and direct beautiful layouts. Four years later, Eric's passion for fresh ideas has made him one of the industry's greatest weapons against flat brands.

You can spot Eric's desk a mile away - action figures and crumpled scraps of paper with half-baked thoughts litter his desk. Eric's quiet sense of humour is always good for some comic relief, and his mind is always churning out new ideas. But if he starts speaking in speech bubbles, we're going to have a word with him.

Luckily, the windows at Revolve overlook a park, where Graham takes delight in watching his furry friends frolic.

Jason may work in the virtual world, but he’s got a whole lot of real-world experience.

Jason D. Moss
Senior Digital Developer

Growing up in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, Jason started working right out of high school at a steel distribution centre in Burnside. A couple years later, he headed west for the kind of adventure that most people only read about in books. ‘Choose-Your-Own-Adventure’ books.

In British Columbia, Jason worked as a cook, river guide, ski and climbing instructor, dogsled guide and helicopter logger. After having enough epic experiences to last at least two lifetimes, he decided to move to Calgary and pursue an education in Computer Information Systems.

At school, Jason excelled in programming and working with Linux. He went on to work for IBM and freelanced as a web developer for four years, before deciding to move home and join the team at Revolve. In typical Jason fashion, he packed up his truck, drove from Calgary to Halifax in four days and now has great material if he ever wants to write an amazing road trip story.

Jason’s favourite big brands:

Mountain Equipment Co-op, The Gnome Foundation, Google, Inc.

Jayme isn't afraid of monsters - she makes them!

Jayme Walters
Production Designer

We knew Jayme had a talent for production when she joined us at Revolve, but we had no idea how many great things she could produce. She then moved to Colour, where she was instrumental in setting the design tone for Nova Scotia Tourism, NSLC and NSCC – her alma mater. In her spare time, Jayme is still designing and producing – she sells a line of adorable toy Sock Monsters and even designed a fellow Revolver’s tattoo.

Jen takes pride in her ability to build strong client relationships and her ridiculous attention to detail. She even quadruple checked this BIO. If you’d like to hear Jen’s accent for yourself, give her a call. It’s not like Braveheart or anything. It’s much more friendly.

Mike is kind of like a one-man marketing Sherpa guide.

Mike Bardsley

Before landing at Revolve’s front desk as our Receptionist, Nicola attended Saint Mary’s University, where she majored in Small Business & Entrepreneurship. Her love of school and learning led her to work at her alma mater as a teaching assistant and lab coordinator.

While Nicola is a born and bred Nova Scotian, she once spent a summer in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. And while she adores French, she sadly can’t speak it anymore. But there has to be an app for that, right?

Sam's journey to Revolve is a story of halves made whole.

Sam Archibald
Art Director

Sam spent half of his childhood in Halifax and the other half in Vancouver. Growing up on both coasts helped Sam develop an ability to see everything from both sides, as well as a forced appreciation for seafood.

As half of a set of twin brothers, Sam quickly developed a competitive spirit to exert himself in every endeavour. Always the natural creative, Sam dabbled in film and music before enrolling in NSCAD University's Design program.

Three years into NSCAD, Sam realized his affinity for great ideas, so he transferred to the Ontario College of Art & Design's Advertising program for the second half of his university education. With one eye on great art direction and the other constantly hunting for the industry's newest trends, Sam is regularly dreaming up fresh ideas.

Which gives us an art director with a whole new way of thinking.

Finbar's, Allan Carver, Pro Skateboards & Snowboards

Sam’s favourite big brands:

Sam is always working to awaken great things. When he received his first computer at the age of 11, he quickly went to work teaching himself programming. This self-starting ambition has lead Sam to a successful 10-year career as a freelance designer and developer. He’s taken on jobs as a user-interface designer, graphic designer and website developer, relocating to Montreal and Ottawa before returning to the east coast.

But Sam’s personal drive doesn’t end with his career. Performing under the name Embassy, he’s also an established electronic music artist. And an inventor, who’s spent many years perfecting the alarm clock. Right now he has a working prototype, so we’re expecting that he’ll never be late reporting to Revolve in his position as Senior Interactive Developer.

Steve Wallace
Copywriter

Steve has always been focused on creativity. And he knows a great job when he sees one. After majoring in History at the University of Guelph, he logged time working in a feed mill, slugging bags of animal feed and hoping for a more fulfilling, creative existence.

Creativity has always played a huge part in Steve’s life. For 8 years Steve played guitar in the band Tomorrow’s Excuse, recording 2 albums and playing gigs near his hometown of Cambridge, Ontario. Steve still keeps his Gibson Flying V close at hand, but luckily for us, he’s refocused his energy on the wonderful world of branding.

Steve attended the advertising copywriting program at Humber College, interning at Fingerprint Communications and MacLaren McCann in Toronto. He then made the move to Halifax, making a splash at Colour and winning the Young Creative Competition at the 2009 ICE Awards. Now Steve is a proud Revolver, and is thankful every day that we don’t make him carry bags of feed pellets around the office.

Revolve’s resident news junky, Victoria is always looking for the full story on every project she tackles.

Victoria DeWolfe
Account Coordinator

Born and raised in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, the town that bears her family name (seriously), Victoria has always been a go-getter. She attended Dalhousie University majoring in English, and also received certification to teach English as a second language. With schooling under her belt, Victoria jetted off to Kumamoto, Japan where she taught English and picked up a little Japanese. Konnichi wa!

Victoria also participated in Young Canada Works, getting the chance to live and work in National Parks in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. After all that travel, its no wonder she’s keen to keep up with world news!

These days, Victoria prefers relaxing with a newspaper and her pet Chow Chow (whom she proclaims is the cutest dog ever) close by.

Victoria’s favourite local brands:

Fox Hill Cheese House, Just Us!, Mountain Equipment Co-op

Victoria’s favourite big brands:

Volkswagen, Apple, H&M

Are cherry Twizzlers for the creative department a tax deductable expense?

Wayne Mendes
Director of Finance

We don't know, but our Director of Finance certainly does. Wayne has almost 20 years of experience in accounting and finance roles with numerous organizations, including professional services firms.

Wayne was born and raised in sunny Hawaii, moved to sunny California, where he graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) before beginning his finance career. After soaking up a lifetime supply of summer weather and traffic jams on the west coast, Wayne decided to see what it would be like to experience all four seasons, and moved to Nova Scotia.

Wayne's natural ability to look at complex numbers, understand the story they tell, and translate what he sees into a clear picture ensures that our finances are as strong as the work we do for our clients every day.

When Wayne isn't counting beans, he's counting beats as an avid barbershop quartet singer. While in California he was a founding member of a 120-man barbershop chorus, and he's even performed at the Hollywood Bowl. That makes him the closest thing to a celebrity we've met since that time we saw Ellen Page downtown.

Yazeed Sobaih
Social Media Strategist

Yazeed has a lot to give, and he knows that social media can make a huge difference.

After losing his father to cancer in 2006, Yazeed became heavily involved in charities that raise awareness and funds for cancer research. He worked for the charity organization Give to Live as the Logistics and Marketing Assistant and has twice participated in their North American bike ride for cancer – starting in Vancouver and ending in Austin, Texas. Yazeed has also participated in the LiveStrong challenge and even met Lance Armstrong!

A Commerce graduate from Dalhousie, Yazeed worked in financial positions at the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Dalhousie before finding his calling at Revolve.

Using his knowledge of social media and love of gaming, he started his own charity, Frag for Cancer. They host annual video gaming tournaments and sell gear to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Running a grassroots campaign through their website and Facebook, the 2010 Frag for Cancer event raised $8000 and had 300 in attendance, while hundreds more watched on live stream.

Yazeed – Revolve’s resident sports fanatic, social media guru and all around nice guy –really knows how to mobilize an online community to make a difference.
